Monsignor Thomas J Owens was appointed pastor at St. Alphonsus parish in June,2002.he came to us from the faculty of St. Charles Seminary where he served as Dean of Formation for 12 years. A Philadelphia native born in 1948 Monsignor attended St. Joseph’s College, St. Charles Seminary and Creighton University in Omaha. His vocation to the diocesan priesthood was fashioned early as young man growing up in our Lady of Lourdes Church in Philadelphia. He understands that the charism of a diocesan priest is his commitment to live next to the church and in the neighborhood of those he serves. St. Alphonsus Parish is the body of Christ in Maple Glen. We hope to witness to the good news of Jesus Christ and fashion young men and women in the spirit of the gospel.
